The weather yesterday was absolutely gorgeous with high pressure bringing us sunny skies. It was in fact the fourth sunny day of Spring 2013. The high yesterday reached only 54 degrees, which is nine degrees cooler than where it should be this time of year.

For today we’ll have sunshine once again but it will mix with some clouds throughout the day as the high pressure system moves away to the north and an area of low pressure moves up along the coast spreading some clouds into the area. Temperatures today will peak in the mid to upper 50s, which is still a below where temperatures should be this time of year.

Tonight, expect skies to be mostly cloudy. There is the chance for a sprinkle towards daybreak, especially in southern and southeastern Connecticut as the low pressure tracks towards the Cape and Islands. Lows tonight will be in the mid to upper 30s.

Then on Tuesday, expect mostly cloudy weather with the chance for a sprinkle or shower, but it won’t be anything major. There won’t be too much sunshine however, and a northeast wind will force temperatures to stay in the 50s.

Wednesday is looking to be mostly sunny for a majority of the day. We will experience milder than normal temperatures with highs in the mid and upper 60s. Late in the day, expect clouds to work into the area as a cold front approaches.

The cold front will bring showers and rain to Connecticut Wednesday and should move out early Thursday, letting high pressure once again dominate the weather for New England. This will lead to sunnier weather on Thursday, Friday, and into the weekend. Temperatures are looking to be in the low and mid 60s Thursday and through the weekend.
