Three months after a hit and run accident in Southington injured three women, police announce a pending arrest in the case bringing closure to many small businesses along Queen Street where the accident happened.

Police say 46-year-old Edward Fascendini of Plainville has been charged with misconduct with a motor vehicle and three counts of evading responsibility, but the warrant for this arrest hasn’t been served yet, it will be next week when this man appears in court in Bristol for an unrelated incident.

It was back in February when police say Fascendini struck three women as they walked along the side of Queen Street because at that time the sidewalks were still full of snow.

One of the three women, 23 year old Yan Qiao Chen, died as a result of her injuries.

“It was good police work as well as some help from the public which we were hoping for because it always helps your investigation move along,” said Michael Baribault of the Southington Police Department. “We got some tips, we acted on, and followed on, and that turned into some information that we were able to put together to get this individual.”
