Christopher Leone, chief operating officer and director of magnet schools, said the accident happened around 8:30 a.m. and that a pickup truck towing lawn care equipment rear-ended the bus.
No one on the bus was injured, Leone said, and all the children were taken to school.
Metacomet Elementary School houses third and fourth grade students. The school is located at 185 School Street in Bloomfield.
