WOODBRIDGE It may be a bit out of season for elections, but today is election day for 13 communities across the state.

Municipal elections will be held in the following city, towns and boroughs: Groton,  Andover, Bethany, Union, Woodbridge, Bantam, Danielson, Fenwick, Jewett City, Litchfield, Newtown, Stonington and Woodmont.

It is a sad day in one of those communities, however, where the Woodbridge municipal elections will be missing a familiar face.

Today was supposed to the be day that First Selectman Edward Sheehy was going to run for a fifth term in office. He died suddenly on April 22, 2013, and now the town members have heavy hearts for their municipal leader who was a member of the board for 34 years. Selectwoman Beth Heller has filled Sheehy’s position in the interim

Fox CT’s Tim Lammers was at the Town Hall with reaction from residents in Woodbridge.
