New Campaign Boosts Connecticut Tourism

Connecticut’s economy gets a big boost from the tourism industry and there is a new campaign that includes must-see attractions based on input from residents and visitors.

Randy Fiveash, director at the Connecticut Office of Tourism, joins the Morning Extra to share some impressive statistics. He breaks down how money from the travel and tourism industry benefits the economy and talks about the number of jobs tourism brings to the state.

He also talks about a the Connecticut Fan Favorite Contest. Participants can vote once a day on the Visit Connecticut Facebook page through May 15th. Each vote counts for a chance to win a prize. Those most passionate about their favorite town are encouraged to rally friends and family. For every person rallied to vote, consumers will receive an additional entry to win.
