Noehren received her award on May 9, 2013 at the Crystal Mall in Waterford. She was selected for this honor after all 24 CTWM’s bloggers submitted individual nominations to the judging committee at www.gomom.me.
Michelle Noehren, founder of CTWorkingMoms states, “My main goal with the website has been to support and inspire other working moms and to give them a place where they feel comfortable, supported and most importantly, not judged. Knowing that my efforts have impacted our followers and bloggers truly means a lot to me. I am honored to receive this award.”
Tricia Brunton, founder and CEO of Gomom.me, said she decided to give Michelle this award because “[Michelle] inspires so many of the bloggers who nominated her, and we could really see that she has such a great impact on so many other moms through the work she does.”
In just over a year and a half, CTWorkingMoms has become a powerhouse and the go-to website for all things related to being a mom. The site features 24 CT-based working mom bloggers and focuses on presenting the issues that arise in daily life in a real way. The site has even gained national attention and has been featured in the HuffingtonPost, TODAY Moms, HLN, Working Mother & MomRising. Closer to home, CTWM’s was featured in the Hartford Magazine’s May 2013 issue (their “Best of Hartford” issue).
Michelle created CTWorkingMoms while on maternity leave in the summer of 2011. The website’s mantra is to provide support, strength and a sense of sisterhood to working moms across Connecticut.
