Each week, the Fox CT News at 4 will open up a new case from the cold case file. Former Hartford detective Chris Lyons hosts the series.

This week, Lyons takes us inside the cold case file of Mary Shirley. On July 15, 1987, her body found behind a stone wall off old Route 2 in Hebron. The cause of death never determined, but ruled a homicide.

Alfred Swinton was found guilty in 2001 for the 1991 strangling death of a Hartford woman, Alfred Swinton, but knew several other women who were killed around that time, including Shirley, from bars they frequented in the North End of Hartford. All of the women were brutally killed and dumped in remote areas in and near Hartford between 1987 and 1991.
