HARTFORD – There has been more back and fourth in Hartford between the city council and Mayor Pedro Segarra.
After the city council worked to balance a huge budget deficit and cut millions of dollars from the mayor’s proposed budget, the mayor rejected more than half of those cuts.
Now the council has hired an attorney, who’s says Segarra can’t do that. According to the lawyer Segarra doesn’t have the authority to reject or amend the city councils cuts to his proposed budget.
The council will meet Friday at noon to discuss the budget and hope to adopt a new plan.
