Moose Hit By Car In Manchester

mooseMANCHESTER – A moose seen wandering in and out of residential yards early Thursday was hit by a car and killed later in the day, officials said.

The driver of the vehicle was not seriously injured. The accident occurred on I-384 East just before Exit 5, state police said.

A spokesman with the Department of Energy and Environmental Protection said the moose was first spotted around 5:30 a.m.

It wandered near Overlook Drive and Vernon Street and went back into the woods around 9:20 a.m., said DEEP spokesman Dwayne Gardner.
