MILFORD – Friday morning there was a light drizzle and light surf, but some brisk wind in Milford, as storm Andrea was making its way up the East Coast.

The worst of the rain is expected to come during the afternoon hours and into the evening commute.

Residents in shoreline towns have taken patio furniture indoors, and some have emergency kits in case of power outages.

Size wise, storm Andrea is a lot smaller and much less intense than the past storms that have hit the Connecticut coast. Storms Sandy and Irene caused major damage to homes along the shore, so residents have said they are relieved that storm Andrea will not be as strong when it moves through the state.
