Simpsons Writer Brings New Show To Connecticut

A new play from one of the writers of The Simpsons, entitled “I’m Connecticut,” opened at the  Ivoryton Playhouse on June 5. The fast-paced, romantic comedy is about a man named Marc, a Connecticut native who struggles with relationships and feelings of inadequacy. The play is a must-see comedy for anyone from the Nutmeg State.

“I’m Connecticut” is Reiss’ first play. The show set box-office records at Connecticut Repertory Theatre in December 2011.

The Hartford Courant called the romantic comedy “hysterically funny” and named it one of the top ten productions of the year. It was also named Best Play of 2012 by Broadway World Connecticut.

im ctThe cast will include two actors from the original production: Harris Doran and veteran Connecticut resident, Jerry Adler.

Mike Reiss was born and raised in Bristol, Connecticut. He has been working on and off as a writer, producer, executive producer, and show runner for The Simpsons since 1989. In addition, he co-wrote the 2007 Simpsons feature length movie.
