One person was killed and three others were seriously injured Saturday afternoon when a car and a pick-up truck collided on Federal Road near Morgan Avenue, police and fire officials said.
Danbury police did not identify person who died. A sergeant said family members were still being notified late Saturday night.
Police said a 2013 Hyundai was heading north on Federal Road at a high rate of speed when it collided with a 2008 Ford F250 pick-up registered to Eagle Electric of Washington, Conn. The teenaged driver of the pick-up was not injured, officials said.
Four people, all from the Hyundai, were taken to Danbury Hospital, where one died. Firefighters used rescue tools to extricate three of the occupants of the Hyundai.
The crash remained under investigation by Danbury police late Saturday night. No charges had been filed.
