Combine it with beautiful waterfront, beaches, shopping, it seems to have everything.”
Visitors gaze upon mansions from the Gilded Age, along with well-known yacht clubs. Hidden spots, best seen from the water, such as a beautiful bridge designed by the architect of Central Park, are easily visible. Also particularly scenic: the small Castle Hill Lighthouse which is nestled into a rocky cliff, as the massive Newport Pell Bridge looms in the distance.
Interesting stories abound as the immaculately maintained vessel moves past Fort Adams State Park, the largest coastal fortification in the country, and Hammersmith Farm, where John and Jacqueline Kennedy celebrated their wedding reception. Maritime charm mixes with grandeur, representing the unique character of Newport.
