Sunny, dry, and comfortable today and tomorrow. A heat wave is expected on the way Sunday and temperatures will soar into the low 90’s next week.

Summer officially begins early tomorrow morning  at 1:04 a.m.

Today will be another sunny, warm, and comfortable day with high temperatures near 80. Wind: WSW 5-10 mph. Sunset: 8:29 p.m.

High pressure out of Central Canada moves over Connecticut today and will continue to dominate our weather with plenty of sunshine, low humidity, and comfortable weather today through Saturday. Highs will top out in the upper 70s to lower and middle 80s. Overnight lows will be in the 50s and 60s.

Our cool, wet weather pattern is about to undergo a major pattern reversal next week. The East Coast trough, which has been responsible for the heavy rain in the past couple of weeks, will be replaced by a big Bermuda High Pressure Ridge that could potentially bring prolonged heat into Connecticut for several weeks. And on Sunday temperatures will top out around and over 90 degrees, with moderate to high levels of humidity, as dew point temperatures will creep into the mid 60s.

Temperatures will average into the low 90s next week as we could have four or possibly five consecutive days of 90-degree heat, making for a potential second heat wave for 2013. The last time we reached 90 degrees was on June 1st when we had our first heat wave during the last couple of days of May and into June.

Full Forecast:

Friday: Mostly sunny, warm and dry. High: 80-85. Wind: SW 5-10 mph.

Saturday: Mostly sunny, high in the upper 80s.

Sunday: Hazy sunshine, hot and humid. High: near 90.

Monday-Wednesday: Hazy sunshine, hot and humid, high in the low 90s, lows in the muggy 60s to near 70, cooler along the beaches. Slight chance for an isolated thunder storm.
