With another day of temperatures in the 90s and high humidity, some towns across the state are opening up municipal buildings to those who don’t have air conditioning and are looking for a place to cool off.

People should also try to check on elderly neighbors, who may be especially susceptible to the extreme heat. Warning signs of heat exhaustion include dizziness, weakness, fainting and vomiting.

The 90-degree heat is expected to move out of the state by Thursday but warm temperatures in the 80s will stick around for the rest of the week and into the weekend.

In Manchester, designated cooling centers include the Mary Cheney Library on Main Street, the Whiton Memorial Library on North Main Street and the Manchester Senior Center on East Middle Turnpike, as well as several swimming pools that are open around the town.
