Dozens came out Sunday evening in Bridgeport to support a 2-year-old who was the victim of a hit and run.

Corey Gordon Jr. was hit by a vehicle on April 30 and suffered head trauma. He has since been moved to a rehabilitation center in New York.

To raise money for medical expenses, family and friends gathered for a pasta dinner in his honor.

He is expected to come home next month.

“I’m happy that he is doing better, and I can’t wait to be with him,” said his mother, Erica Parmlee.

His cousin, Lynn Terry, created a scrapbook for Corey, snapping photos.

“The photos are a way for him to understand and to see how many people really care about him and what people have done for him while this has been going on,” said Terry.

Sunday night was another night of capturing moments as family and friends came together once again to eat and rejoice over his progress.

“I’m happy that they came because they are supporting my son, and that means a lot to me,” said him mother.

“I love it. I love that everybody has come to show support for him. It’s good,” said Corey’s grandfather, Charles Jones.

Bridgeport Police are still looking for the driver of the vehicle that hit Corey. Donations for Corey can be made at any General Electric Credit Union under his name.
