BRIDGEPORT – Police are investigating after a woman was shot near Beardsley Park late Tuesday.
Just before 11 p.m., a 22-year-old Stratford woman was found by a passerby leaving Beardsley Park, police said. Emergency personnel determined she had been shot in the leg and she was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
The woman told police she had been carjacked. Police said officers from neighboring towns and state police responded and searched the area but no suspects were located.
The incident remains under investigation.
