FAIRFIELD — Police are searching for two teenage sisters who disappeared Tuesday night after stopping by a Marshalls at 700 Post Road to see their mother, police said.
The girls, 16-year-old Carmen Cotto and 14-year-old Angelica Cotto, were dropped off at the store by their father around 9 p.m. so they could spend time with their mother, police said.
Their mother is an employee at the store and was working at the time. She told the girls to go back outside and return home with their father.
But the father, not knowing the girls were coming back out, was gone. The mother came home after work and realized her daughters hadn’t made it home with their father.
The parents went to Fairfield police at 1:30 a.m. to report them missing.
Carmen Cotto is described as a white female with brown hair and hazel eyes. She is 5-feet 5-inches, 165 pounds. She also has a burn scar on her right arm. She was last seen wearing a blue dress with a black silk-like jacket.
Angelica Cotto is described as a white female with black hair with a red stripe down the back and brown eyes. She is 5 feet, 125 pounds. She was last seen wearing blue jean shorts and a black shirt.
Police said the girls are believed to be in the Bridgeport area.
