The National Weather Service is sending crews to northeastern Connecticut today to survey Wednesday’s storm damage.

They will visit both Tolland and the Andover, Coventry, Storrs area to determine whether another tornado touched down in the state.

It’s incredible video that shows what looks to be a funnel cloud moving through northeastern Connecticut.

And just as quickly as it touched down and moved across the horizon, the storm disappeared, but not before doing significant damage.

Bob Bidwell’s wife watched from inside their home as what they believed was a tornado, moved through the woods in their backyard.

The storm dumped heavy rain and strong winds onto the northeaster part of the state, snapping hardy trees in half, while ripping decades-old trees from their roots. Nearby in Coventry, the storm flattened a barn.

Now if the National Weather Service confirms this tornado, it would be the fourth tornado in Connecticut since July 1.

On July 1, three tornados touched down in Fairfield county, then later in Windsor and Enfield.

Today, residents will be cleaning up the damage left behind.
