WATERTOWN — A 65-year-old local man was arrested Wednesday and charged with raping a girl several years ago at his residence.

Harold Winnie, of 113 Cherokee Drive, faces charges of first-degree sexual assault, third-degree sexual assault and risk of injury to a minor, according to a release from Watertown police.

The girl was under 16 at the time and knew Winnie but was not related to him, the release states. She told a family member that she had been assaulted.

Police are investigating whether there are other victims.

Winnie was due to appear in Superior Court in Waterbury on Thursday. His bail was set at $100,000.
