We already have Heat Advisories issued for most of the state for Monday, and there will likely be more for each day this week.

Monday has the potential to be our hottest day of the year, with temperatures inland expected to soar into the mid 90s. Our record high is 100 (set in 1995), and we could be very close to that. The humidity will also be uncomfortably high, so the heat index will likely exceed 100 degrees throughout much of the afternoon. Our heat and hazy sunshine continues until at least Thursday, although there are a few chances for late-day thunderstorms for the end of the week and into next weekend.

Here’s some forecast details:

Monday: Hot, hazy and humid. Highs 90-98.

Tuesday: Hazy sun, still oppressive humidity. Highs: Mid 90s.

Wednesday: Similar to Tuesday. 90s yet again.

Thursday: Still hot, but a chance for late-day storms. Other than that, mostly sunny. Highs in the 90s.

Friday: Partly cloudy, still steamy. Chance for thunderstorms, some of which may be severe. Highs: 90s.
