VERNON — A 32-year-old man was charged Wednesday in connection with a robbery at a People’s Bank branch May 25, police said.

Detectives traced the vehicle used in the robbery to Arthur Allyn, police said. He is charged with second-degree robbery, third-degree larceny and conspiracy to commit third-degree larceny.

He is in custody on a $250,000 pending his arraignment Thursday at Superior Court in Rockville.

An additional arrest is expected, police said.

Allyn allegedly robbed the bank, located at 35 Talcottville Rd., by handing the teller a note. He left with an undisclosed amount of cash.

Allyn was charged in the robbery after he was extradited from New Jersey.

Another robbery at the same bank on June 21 remains under investigation. Police said they don’t believe the two robberies are not connected.

Anyone with any information about the robbery in June to call 860-872-9126. Callers may remain anonymous.
