WOODBRIDGE — A 14-month-old Yorkie-Chihuahua mix died Wednesday afternoon after it was left inside a car during 90-degree heat, police said.

It’s owner, 24-year-old owner Tiffany July-Lindo, left the dog in the car with the windows rolled up on Lunar Drive while she went to work at a local business, police said.

She returned an hour later around 4 p.m. and the dog was dead, police said.

She has been charged with one count of cruelty to animals and is scheduled to appear July 26 in Superior Court in New Haven.
