A music festival in Somers brought out hundreds who came to support the family of Grayson Minney, a local musician who died in a car accident in May. He was the lead singer and guitarist for Columbia Fields.

The enormity of Grayson’s influence was evident Saturday.

Fourteen bands played at the Hug More Love More Music Festival.

They all donated their time to raise money for Grayson’s father, who is in danger of losing his home, the place where Grayson grew up.

“Grayson, before he passed, was helping his parents financially because they were in foreclosure of their home,” said Joe Lee, former band manager.

“I don’t know where we stand right now, but I’m amazed at the amount of people who showed up,” said Fred Minney, Grayson’s father.

The name of the festival, Hug More Love More, comes from a saying that Grayson had with his dad.

Organizers hope the festival continues for years to come, just as long as Grayson’s legacy.

“Grayson was an inspiration to everybody,” said former co-worker Donna Hopke.

Columbia Fields was the last band to play at Saturday’s festival.

Grayson was the lead singer and guitarist, but Saturday a friend took over to play with the band.
