SOMERS – A home on Bilton Road was destroyed by fire early Wednesday, fire officials said.
Crews responded to the scene at 20 Bilton Road shortly before 1 a.m. Fire officials said the home was fully engulfed when they arrived. The one man who lived in the home escaped without injury.
Fire officials said their efforts were hampered due to a live wire down in front of the scene, but the fire was so well involved that the chief believes there isn’t much they could have done to save the house.
The fire marshal is investigating the cause of the fire.
