A touch of fall to start the first full week of August, with sunny comfortable days and clear cool nights.  A return to more typical summer like conditions for the second half of the week with warming temperatures, higher humidity along with showers and thunderstorms, especially on Thursday.

High pressure from the Great Lakes will influence of our weather with plenty sunshine, low humidity and comfortable fall-like temperatures Sunday night through Wednesday, with highs averaging in the 70s. Temperatures Monday and Tuesday mornings could reach near record lows with reading in the 40s in many towns.

High pressure will slide off the New England Coast Wednesday, and that will slowly begin to increase the humidity and temperatures as a southerly flow will develop on the back side of the high.  A slow moving warm front will approach our area Wednesday night and Thursday with showers and thunderstorms that could contain some heavy rain.

Friday, a slow moving cold front will touch off some more showers and thunderstorms.

Overnight: Partly cloudy to clear, very cool.  Low: 47-57.

Monday: Mostly sunny, cool and pleasant. High: 74-79.  Wind: NW 5-10 mph.  Sunrise: 5:49 AM; Sunset: 8:04 PM

Monday night:  Clear & chilly.  Low: 44-54.

Tuesday:  Sunny & pleasant. High: 75-80.

Wednesday: Partly sunny, Highs: 77-82.

Thursday:  Showers and thunderstorms, humid. High: 70s to near 80!

Friday: A mix of sun and clouds, warm and humid, chance for a late day thunderstorm.  High: 80-85.
