HEBRON — A 17-year-old Hebron girl was killed early Tuesday when the car she was riding in went out of control on West Street and struck a large tree.

State police at the Colchester barracks said Paige Houston, who was in the rear seat of a 2000 Toyota Tundra pickup truck, was thrown from the vehicle and died at the scene. Houston was to begin her senior year at RHAM High School later this month.

The driver, Connor McKee, 17, of Wall Street, Hebron, suffered a broken arm. Two others in the car, Andrew Burton, 16, of Prentice Hill Road, and Zachary Trapp, 18, of Wheeling Road, Andover, suffered minor injuries in the crash.

State police said they are still investigating the crash, which occurred just north of the Martin Road intersection.

The car was northbound on West Street, police said, when it went off the west side of the road, then out of control, came back onto the road and continued north before going off the east side of the road and striking the tree.
