Not a lot going on to start off the night. The best moisture and instability remain west of Connecticut…for now. But we are certainly not out of the woods. Showers will become more numerous towards daybreak.
Keep an umbrella nearby Friday with heavy rain at times with embedded thunderstorms. Downpours can happen at any time of the day. Some of the storms could be strong and will need to be monitored. Although there is low instability in the atmosphere, the wind shear (wind direction turning with height) is just right. This means there is a possibility for low topped supercells IF we can get some storms to develop.
Very humid, almost tropical air remains in place through tonight. A cold front Friday night will help wash the moisture out of the air. Early morning clouds Saturday will break for sun with drier comfy air streaming in. Both days this weekend look perfect and most of next week looks dry and sunny.
