Event Supports Local Veteran Injured In Combat

A free event at Fireman’s Field on Elm Street in Old Saybrook on Saturday, Aug. 17 will support Sgt. David Tupper, a marine who suffered a traumatic brain injury as a result of combat-related incidents while serving overseas.

The event will feature a carnival-style atmosphere for children with a moon walk, games, face painting, raffle and cotton candy from noon to  4 p.m. There will also be live bands performing all day from noon to 9 p.m.

In addition to donations accepted at the event, donations can be mailed to Support Sgt. Tupper, 2 Butterwick Lane, Old Lyme, CT, 06371.
