The Capitol Report panel discusses the effect money has had on politics including the Citizens United v. Federal Election Commission Supreme Court decision, which allowed corporations to donate unlimited amounts of money to political campaigns.
The group discusses StampStampede, a Vermont-based nonprofit organization that has been stamping $1 bills to raise awareness about the influence of money in politics and what can be done to stop it. The group is seeking a constitutional amendment to overturn the decision made in Citizens United.
So far, more than 9,000 stamps have been sold to mark currency with the group’s logo.
