A warming trend begins with highs in the upper 80s Tuesday and the potential for 90 degree temperatures by the middle of the week for the first time in a month. A cold front will cross the area late Thursday, ushering in seasonable cool temperatures for Friday and the weekend.
High pressure will continue to strengthen and dominate our weather Tuesday through Thursday with plenty of sunshine and warmer temperatures. The clockwise circulation around high pressure will induce a gradual warming trend as a southwest wind will transport a hot and humid air-mass by the middle and end of the week, as the high shifts to the south of New England. Temperatures could reach 90 by Wednesday and Thursday for the first time since July 20.
