In this Hidden History, you learn about The Reminton Rand building, which was home to several industries, including bicycles, automobiles and typewriters. A labor strike ultimatley closed it’s doors in 1937. Although the plant closed and many were out of work, the town gained a sense of solidarity, claiming personal victory.

It is now owned by the City of Middletown, and is home to several companies.

The building has recently been in the news as the city considers allowing a medical marijuana grower to lease space within the building.

You can learn more by visiting the Middlesex County Historical Society on Main Street in Middletown.
