Chef Jeff Trombetta, an instructor at the University of New Haven, visited the Fox CT kitchen to show you how to prepare healthy and nutritious meals on a tight schedule if you’re a busy parent.
Here are some tips from Trombetta:
- Avoid the drive-thru
- Eat as a family
- You cook and your kids clean
- Recycle your pans so you don’t dirty too many dishes
- Stick to fresh vegetables
- Try eating natural starches and top your baked potato with vegetables and seasoning not butter and sour cream
- If you have to use a sweetener with fruit, try natural syrups or a small piece of chocolate
