Jan Albetski, supervisor of assisted living services at The McAuley in West Hartford, a continuing care retirement community, talks about the differences between independent and assisted living. The McAuley will be presenting at the upcoming Transitions Expo in Southington.
Albetski said that places like The McAuley offer services such as housekeeping, dining and apartment maintenance, but still allow residents to have cars and remain active in their faith communities, volunteer assignments and local organizations. Transportation is also available for those who can’t drive.
