Wednesday Morning Weather: Dry, Cooler Day With Highs In Low 70s

High pressure stretching across the middle of the country will supply ample sunshine today along with seasonable temperatures and a west wind, making for a beautiful September day.

A cold front will cross the region early Thursday morning with a batch of clouds that might spark a shower or sprinkle. But the front has very little moisture to work with and thus not much rainfall is expected. Instead, the front will clear the area early tomorrow morning followed by a mix of sun and clouds with much cooler temperatures as high will only reach the upper 60s to low 70s, feeling more like October instead of early September. Keep in mind the normal high for this time of year in near 80 degrees, by the end of the month the normal high is 69 degrees.

Thursday night the coolest air will settle across all of Connecticut and New England with a clear sky and a light wind that will induce cooling.

Lows on Friday morning will bottom out in the 40s with some upper 30s in the normally cooler sheltered valleys. Bright sunshine will continue Friday through the weekend with highs back in the 70’s. A cold front will cross the region on Sunday with very little rainfall as once again the front will be from Canada with little moisture to work with. Cooler air will follow early next week with continued sunny days and cool nights.
