Four men went before the arraignment judge more than a year after a deadly home invasion in Sharon.
Niraj Patel, 26, and Hiral Patel, 25, along with Michael Calabrese, 27, are accused of forcing their way into Rita Vitalis’ home, and shooting her 23-year-old son, Luke, several times and killing him.
Shyam Patel, 27, is accused of helping to try to cover up the crimes.
Prosecutors said Calabrese rolled on the Patels.
Hiral Patel’s attorney, Lenny Crone, claimed Calabrese’s story to police has not been consistent.
“He gave several versions of the event to police and he linked my client to this event in one of the versions…it has changed dramatically over each version,” Crone said.
Prosecutors said the motive for the deadly home invasion was robbery…stealing money to help pay for Niraj Patel’s legal fees on a separate marijuana charge.
