A fight Sunday evening near el Bajio Mexican Restaurant in the city’s South End devolved into a reported stabbing with a man suffering cuts to his face and arm.

The extent of the man’s injuries were not clear. People who said they saw the melee reported that at least two men were behind the restaurant at one point on Franklin Avenue near Adelaide Street. The stabbing victim was then at the front of the building and bleeding when police arrived, according to people at the scene.

The stabbing happened at about 5:30 p.m. Sunday and police were on site until after 9 p.m., with the Crime Scene Division taking photos of the alley between Expresso Latino, a money transfer business, and el Bajio.

No other details were available Sunday night. Hartford Police at the scene declined to comment.
