State police and local police said they found a missing, 5-year old Ridgefield boy Sunday night but said they were continuing to search for the child’s father, Paul Lupo.

The state police issued an amber alert for the child, Francis Lupo of Ridgefield, at about 9:30 p.m. then canceled the alert a half hour later, saying they had found the child, who was last seen driving with his father. Police said the boy was found in the Bronx borough of New York.

At about 10:30 p.m., state and Ridgefield police issued a second alert asking for public assistance in locating Paul Lupo, 49, of Ridgefield. Police said Lupo has brown hair, hazel eyes, is 6-feet tall and weighs 210 pounds.

Police said the elder Lupo was last seen at his home in Ridgefield at about 7:30 p.m. Sunday and may be driving a 2002 blue, GMC Sierra pickup with Connecticut license plate 6558CR.

Authorities asked anyone with information to telephone the Ridgefield Police Department.
