Clouds rolling through parts of the state this morning, associated with a back door front dry cold front. Expect a partly to mostly sunny day. High temperatures around 70. Wind: NNE 5-10 mph. Sunset: 7:41 p.m.

Quiet, dry and pleasant weather continues through the weekend with mostly sunny, mild days and clear, cool nights.

High pressure that stretches from the Great Lakes, Ohio Valley and New England will continue to dominate our weather with mostly sunny skies and comfortable temperatures.

Expect afternoon highs in the upper 60s to low-mid 70s, and early morning lows in the 40s. As with last week, the beautiful weather will continue, offering one last chance to enjoy the closing days of the Big E this weekend.

There is a storm that bears watching, as it will be located well off the Virginia coast Saturday. The storm is expected to move well off the New England Coast and north Atlantic by Sunday and next Monday. Latest computer data continues to show the storm missing Connecticut and skirting eastern New England. A light shower might graze the outer Cape.

Otherwise, for Connecticut, expect lots of sunshine with a few outer fringe clouds off the far distant eastern sky. This morning’s latest data continues to show the storm moving further out to sea. However, as we close in on the weekend, the Fox CT Weather Team will update you on latest storm trends.

If the storm moves closer to the New England coast, then some rain might skirt the shore early Monday morning. The most likely scenario is that high pressure will reestablish itself over the northeast, with more sunshine and comfortable temperatures normal to the early fall season.

It is certainly a quiet weather pattern to begin the fall season, with plenty of sunny, dry days and cool nights.
