A beautiful weekend is on the way with plenty of sunshine, but a storm will come close to the state on Monday and into Tuesday.

Tonight will be cool, with some scattered clouds rolling through parts of the state associated with a northeast flow off the northern Atlantic Ocean.  Low: around 50. Wind: NE 5-10 mph. Sunset: 7:39 p.m.

Our sparkling dry, sunny, and pleasant weather continues through the weekend with mostly sunny, mild days and clear, cool nights.

High pressure that stretches across the northeast will continue to dominate our forecast with spectacular weather under mostly sunny skies, and comfortable temperatures.  Expect afternoon highs in the upper 60s to low-mid 70s and early morning lows in the 40s.

As with last week, you can expect absolutely beautiful weather to enjoy the closing days of Big E this weekend. There is a storm that still bears watching. It will be located well off the Virginia Coast this weekend, and then move north-northeast well off the New England coast, and north Atlantic by next Monday. The latest data this morning has projected the storm back west towards the New England coast, but still far enough off the coast, just skirting the state with some clouds and the possibility of light showers in Cape Cod.

The Fox CT weather team will update you on latest storm trends during the next couple of days. If the low moves closer to the New England coast, then light rain may skirt the region early Monday morning. The most likely scenario is that high pressure will re-establish itself over the northeast, with more sunshine and comfortable temperatures as usual. We have certainly experienced a quiet weather pattern to begin the fall season, with plenty of sunny, dry days and cool nights.
