High temperatures will be in the 70s, and we may even reach the mid 70s for the first time in a week. It’ll be some gorgeous weather for the Durham Fair, as well as the Big E in West Springfield.

High pressure located over New Hampshire today will continue to deliver beautiful weather this weekend with mostly sunny skies, seasonable mild afternoons and clear, cool nights. High temperatures will average in the upper 60s to low 70s with early morning lows in the 40s.

As with this past week, you can expect absolutely beautiful weather to enjoy the last couple of days at the Big E this weekend! Meanwhile, there is a storm that bears watching during the next couple of days that is currently developing well off the Southeast coast. Latest computer data show the storm curving toward eastern New England, just grazing Connecticut with some clouds and possibly some light rain showers and wind in eastern Connecticut by Monday night into Tuesday.

In fact, one computer model shows rain moving through all of Connecticut with upwards of a half inch to an inch of rainfall. But at this point it will be a close call with at least partly to mostly cloudy skies with more sunshine in western Connecticut and New York state.

Once that storm moves away by Tuesday expect more high pressure building in from the Midwest with a big warmup likely. Temperatures could jump into the upper 70s to near 80 by next Wednesday and Thursday, feeling more like the first week of September.
