A huge roundup landed dozens of Connecticut’s most wanted behind bars.
Police arrested a total of 56 fugitives, including a man wanted in California, as part of Operation Archangel.
Several of those suspects were arraigned only hours after being caught.
85 local, state, and federal law enforcement officers began tracking down the suspects at 5am.
Police were particularly focused on violent offenders and sexual offenders.
Outstanding warrants also included probation and protective order violations, as well as drug and robbery felonies.
“I think your communities will be a little safer today that they were removed from the streets, some will make bond, but they know that the long arm of the law can reach out to grab them,” U.S. Marshal for CT, Joseph Faughnan, said.
