NEW HAVEN — A bouncer at a local night spot was arrested after police said she stabbed a patron below her throat about 1:30 a.m. Sunday.

Tomika Knight, 31, had worked at the Grand Café on Pearl Street for several weeks, police said.

She is charged with first-degree assault and second-degree reckless endangerment.

A motive for the attack is unknown. The female victim told police she had no interaction with Knight before the stabbing.

She said she and a friend were leaving the bar when Knight stabbed her, police said.

The woman left in a pick-up truck and approached an officer on Grand Avenue. The officer noticed she was bleeding from a stab wound below her throat, police said. She was taken to an area hospital in an ambulance.

Police said officers confiscated a razor blade they found in Knight’s bag.
