ELLINGTON – Shortly after 3 a.m. Friday, State Police responded to a crash involving a telephone pole.
According to the Department of Transportation, at least one car struck a utility pole, causing significant damage. The accident closed Route 140 between Jacob Hill Road and Buff Cap Road in Ellington.
Connecticut Light & Power was on the scene just after 4 a.m. working to repair the damage.
State Police have yet to release information about the driver. It’s unclear when the roadway is expected to reopen.
