HARTFORD — A tandem tractor-trailer crash closed portions of I-91 and I-84 near the capital city Saturday morning.
According to an alert from the state Department of Transportation, I-91 North is closed between exits 32 and 33 and I-84 East is closed near exit 51 due to the crash, which was reported around 8:45 a.m.
Police said the tractor-trailer struck two large light poles and tipped against edge of the I-84 east ramp on to I-91. The ramp was temporarily closed as crews worked to stabilize the trailers, which were in fear of toppling onto I-91 below.
The tractor-trailer was stabilized around 9:30 a.m. and I-91 was reopened to traffic.
