There is a new Halloween attraction in Bethany that is not for the faint of heart:  The Amity Road Horror!

“Just think of the name,” laughs founder Eric Soltis, referencing “The Amityville Horror” films.  “Right when I found the property, that name clicked right in, and the address, 667, we’re the Devil’s neighbor!”

The creepy maze winds through two acres of woodlands, features ghosts, ghouls and follows a freaky story.

“It’s about Edward Von Hauntington,” explains Soltis, an electrician by trade who has enjoyed scaring people since he was a child.  “He was a greedy, wealthy guy, built a mineshaft, didn’t know it was on an ancient burial ground.”

This fictional villain embarks on evil deeds, is sent to a psychiatric facility and then, escapes!

“Now, he’s on the property, folks. He is ready,” smiles Soltis, proud that friends and family rallied around him to build this entertainingly terrifying trail that’s drawing crowds.
It takes about a half-hour to complete the maze, which is not recommended for kids under age 13.  Tickets cost $15.00 per person.  The Amity Road Horror is open Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays through Halloween.  Click here to check out the attraction’s website for more information.
