The Ronald McDonald House Charities honored 10 local educators with their “Local Hero Awards” at an event at the governor’s mansion in Hartford Tuesday night. Fox CT’s Jim Altman served as emcee for the event for the third year in a row.
Recipients from Connecticut and Western Massachusetts were honored for their “tremendous dedication to their profession and outstanding efforts in serving their schools and communities.”
Ronald McDonald House Charities worked closely with partnering organizations including the Connecticut Association of Schools and the Massachusetts Department of Education to identify the “heroes” throughout the region. Each honoree was given a commemorative plaque as well as a $1,000 grant for their school in their honor.
