WEST HAVEN — Local and New York City police took a West Haven man into custody Wednesday on threatening and breach of peace charges for comments he allegedly made via Twitter about the New York Mets.

Aryn Leroux, 42, of 173 Contact Drive, is scheduled to be arraigned in Superior Court in Milford.

Police said Leroux used Twitter to make threats against New York Mets executives, players and coaches. He also made a “specific threat” to Citi Field, the ball park where the Mets play.

Additional information was not immediately available.

Leroux, who in an online profile described himself as a “die hard Mets fan since 1982,” was held on $2,500 bail.
