NEW LONDON— A 24-year-old man was arrested early Friday for allegedly assaulting a 2-month-old child, police said.
Adam Browne was charged with risk of injury to a minor and first-degree assault, according to police.
The child, who was reported unconscious just after 2 a.m., was taken to Lawrence and Memorical Hospital with life-threatening injuries, police said.
The child’s injuries were not accidental, police said. Officers established a crime scene and began to collect evidence. After further investigation, Browne was placed under arrest, police said.
Browne is being held with bail set at $500,000.
