Students at a New York school who wanted to help victims of Superstorm Sandy have collaborated on a book that outlines the challenges faced by survivors of the storm and highlights the efforts of volunteers who helped out in the months following Sandy. Proceeds from the book will go to help victims of the storm.

The idea for the book came from students at the Pascack Valley Learning Center, a regional high school with students from Connecticut, New York and New Jersey – many of whom were impacted by the storm. The students wanted to create a book so they enlisted help from their parents. The parents were able to secure funding from Ambient Funding. Award-winning journalist Mia Toschi oversaw the editorial content and Four Color Planet designed the book and layout.
